Prehinite is a silicate mineral form of calcium and aluminum.  It frequently forms  small crystals in curved composites.  It is frequently found  n veins and cavities of basaltic rocks, sometimes in granites, syenites, or gneisses.   Its color varies from light green to yellow, but also colorless, blue, pink or white.  It is used as a gemstone.

Skeeter's Note:  These samples originated from Southbury, CT.  The source mine is known for producing world-class prehinite specimens.  We think this is pretty special for our home state and something awesome for young rock & mineral collectors!
